5 Ways to Clean Your Vibracrete Walls
The presentation of your property is important for many different reasons. It may influence decisions of whether you receive new business or not, it might neaten the appearance of your home and even increase the value of your property.
Keeping the fencing clean and free of dirt or defacing may take a little time and elbow grease. However, the results of clean perimeter fencing are immediately apparent. Collect your cleaning materials and follow these five handy hints:
- Hand and Spatula Scraping: The easiest form of cleaning your vibracrete wall is cleaning smaller sections of dirt like clay, paste, tar or other sticky substances. In these instances, use ice to cool the substance, making it more brittle. Use a spatula or chisel to remove the unwanted mess.
- Hand Washing: This is the most common cleaning method for vibracrete walls. This method is time-consuming but ideal for short sections of walling. Use only pH-neutral products, anti-bacterial cleaners and alkaline cleaners for detergent and ensure that the wall has been appropriately sealed before you commence. Water, the correct detergent and a little manual work will assist in sprucing the wall right up. If it is dog or other animal urine stains that you are attempting to remove, ensure that you use a good quality anti-bacterial cleaner as it was made for this purpose.
- High-Pressure Washing: The quickest way to get your concrete wall looking brand new is by using a high-pressure water washer. They are simple to use and their effects are immediately noticeable. It will power away most forms of dirt and the water has no corrosive effects on the surface of the walls. If you do not own a pressure washer, you can rent one for a day or two.
- Sand Blasting: A method best left to the professionals, sandblasting should be reserved for extreme situations such as paint spills, extreme graffiti or pre-sealing before painting.
- Painting: A personal choice may be to clean the wall by painting the surface with corporate colours or to colour code it with your house. Any of the above cleaning techniques may be used to prepare the walls before painting, but just remember to pre-seal and follow the user instructions on the paint tins before getting started.
